Calgary Southeast is mostly modern set of communities with some areas enriching us with heritage. We are fortunate to have a predominant portion of the largest provincial park within an urban setting. Fish Creek is just one of the many parks that compliment this family centric riding. We've seen much growth over the last few years and with that has come some benefits to our communities. Just to the south we can see the construction of one of the largest hospitals in north america and what's sure to be one of the most technologically advanced. Plans are underway to build infrastructure to support more mass transit, including a C-Train extension into the communities of Calgary's SE. The southeast is in fact one of the fastest growing ridings in the country and there is an inherent concern about our fervent spread and it's impact.
These are all indicators that we live in a riding that is concerned about our future and welcomes more sustainable alternatives.
Consider the stats:
- Several polling stations within Calgary SE had 20% or higher support for the Green Party in the last election
- Angus Reid poll revealed that 58% of Canadians think we should have Green MP in Parliament
- We are educated: Nearly 50% of Calgary SE voters have university degrees or college diplomas
Calgary Southeast has a lot to offer the rest of Canada. It’s time we send a strong voice and message to Ottawa. Calgary SE, make the vote that articulates our hopes for a Green Economy.
